Many people know the name of their horoscope sign and enjoy checking their horoscopes on a daily basis. In fact, while almost everyone knows their astrological sign, not many know what they mean. The following is a brief explanation of the astrology signs of the zodiac:

Aries (March 21 - April 19) are very adventurous and they like to be the center of attention. They also tend to enjoy the pursuit of a goal, rather than the moment they actually obtain it.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20) tend to be very tenacious, even to the point of stubbornness, and rarely ever give up. Also, they're not especially fond of change and prefer the comfort and a steady routine. They can have a mighty temper.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20) often have many different sides, which makes them rather complex. They're not the type to sit back and watch things happen around them, but rather like to be involved with everything. They can be a bit fickle.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22) are often mysterious and even contradictory. They like to be helpful but they can also be quite cold. They like to be adventurous but they can be shy. More than anything, however, they like to be loved.

Leo (July 23 - August 22) are very proud, but also generous and open-hearted. Despite being somewhat self-absorbed, they want to right the wrongs of the world, and they're very forgiving and can't hold a grudge.

Virgo (August 23- September 22) seem very calm and collected on the surface, but underneath, they're rather nervous and worrisome. They have a constant need to improve things to perfection, but despite being rather picky, they're generally kind-hearted.

Libra (September 23 - October 22) possess the rare ability to put themselves into another's shoes and see things from their perspective. That makes them very diplomatic. In addition, they are quite intelligent and they like to be admired.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21) have a natural curiosity to understand everything, and in order to feel safe, they have to be in control. For that reason, they usually try to control anyone they think is weaker than them.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21) have an intense curiosity and are always looking forward in the lives, and never dwelling on past events. Also, they're not very emotional and usually see emotions as a weakness.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19) are extremely patient and will never make a rash decision, and also tend to view things as either black or white. Things they don't understand make them feel uneasy.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18) are very complicated and difficult to understand. They like to be alone and yet they're excellent in social situations. They're also very eccentric and believe they should be recognized for it.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20) are generally very spiritual and intuitive people. In some ways, they hide from the real world by indulging in occultism or spiritualism, but for them these things are very real. Of all the zodiac signs, Pisces is the most sensitive.

Besides being divided into twelve entities, the zodiac astrology signs are divided into even more specific parts. An element is attributed to each sign, for example. There are fire signs, earth signs, air signs, and water signs--each with different traits associated with them.

There are so many calculations that go into each horoscope that the sheer volume of information would fill several books. That's just one of the reasons astrology has thrived over the years.
